Alfa Romeo Giulia & Stelvio Receive Mid-life Updates

The Alfa Romeo Giulia & Stelvio models have been refreshed for the MY2023 and they have received numerous changes to the exterior and interior.

Exterior Design

Up front, the Giulia & Stelvio have been redesigned, now boasting a unique look to the front and lower grilles of the two main air ducts. The highlight improvement in the refreshed models is the addition of new 3+3 full LED Adaptive Matrix headlights, resulting in a resemblance to the Tonale model.

The rear end of the Giulia and Stelvio boasts LED technology, with the Stelvio featuring new clear lens taillamps and the Giulia sporting a smoked lens with a glossy black finish.

Interior Design

Inside, the highlight improvement in the refreshed models is the instrument panel with its historic ‘telescopic’ design which includes the new digital 12.3-inch TFT screen. The new display houses all vehicle information and autonomous driving functions. The digital display may also be customized into three different layouts, namely: Evolved, Relax and Heritage.

Also new to the updated models are a fluid and intuitive Human Machine Interface which keeps all functionalities at hand. The infotainment system pairs up with the optionally available Alfa Connect Services to offer features which include over-the-air updates and My Remote to control some vehicles functions such as unlocking/locking the doors via a smartphone/smartwatch.

Non-Fungible-Token (NFT) technology which was a world exclusive in the automotive industry when introduced in the Tonale, will be available on the Giulia and Stelvio and will also be available on the entire line up. The technology is based on the concept of the blockchain card which is an encrypted and non-modifiable digital register where the main information of each vehicle will be recorded.

Based on an individual customers selection, the NFT will generate a certificate where data on the vehicle’s life will be recorded. This certificate can in turn be used to generate proper vehicle preservation along with supporting its residual value. Furthermore, the NFT certificate will act as a source of credibility, to the benefit of the owner or reseller but also reassuring the buyer in the choice of a used vehicle.

Giulia and Stelvio Line-up

Only two models will be on offer for the Giulia and Stelvio, and these include the Sprint and Veloce. The entry-level Sprint models will offer a unique Alfa Romeo experience while the Veloce models will offer performance and sportiness. The Giulia model range will be available with the RWD 208kW petrol engine whereas the Stelvio will be available with the choice of the AWD 208kW petrol engine or 156kW diesel engines.

Competizione Special Series

In celebration of the debut of the refreshed Giulia and Stelvio, Alfa Romeo will be introducing the Competizione special series. The launch edition, based on the Veloce trim, will be available with every engine and will sit at the top of the range, sporting the exclusive Moon Light grey matt colour and red brake calipers. The sporty appearance of the Stelvio will be further enhanced thanks to 21-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the special series model will benefit from the Harmon/Kardon audio system, leather-upholstered dashboard, and seats with red stitching. Also included is privacy glass and Competizione badging on the sides and front headrests. The exclusive Alfa Active Suspension and NFT technology are also fitted to the Competizione special series.

The updated Giulia and Stelvio models have not been confirmed for South Africa yet however we believe that they will make their way to local shores in 2023.
