With 4,734 vehicles sold in July 2022, Suzuki Auto is within close reach of the 5000-units a month sales figure. The Japanese compact vehicle specialist continues to break sales records every month, with July 2022 seeing them take the third position behind Toyota and Volkswagen. The Japanese firm also achieved a new market share record of 14.87% for the passenger vehicles segment.
Suzuki’s network of eighty-four dealers also set a record of 3,460 vehicle sales, making July 2022 the third consecutive month of new sales records. The manufacturers fleet and government sales team performed exceptionally well too, managing to record 1,274 sales of Suzuki vehicles.
The model which remains under the spotlight is the Swift, with 1,521 new homes found for the model. The recently revised Ertiga managed to sell 257 units, the new Baleno managing to sell 466 units, the Vitara Brezza selling 636 units and the quirky Jimny finding 326 new homes.
Manager of dealer sales at Suzuki Auto South Africa, Henno Havenga, says that the manufacturer has almost doubled its sales figures every year for the last three years. Havenga says that comparing January to June 2020, the manufacturer had sold 6,605 vehicles even with sales greatly affected by the national lockdown. In 2021, until June, Suzuki Auto managed to hit a new mid-year record with 12,670 units sold. By June 2022, the manufacturer had already sold 22,468 vehicles.
To continue the success story, the Japanese manufacturer will expand its dealer network further to meet customer demands whilst also introducing new models and new variants to existing model ranges to the market.
