With the world premiere due for the 16th of October 2022, Mercedes-Benz has given the world a first glimpse of the new EQE SUV. The new model is essentially based on the EQE executive saloon and will feature the same innovations as found on the EQS, all packaged in an offering with headroom, legroom and elbow room which make it one of the most spacious SUVs in its class.
Based on the large electric platform from Mercedes-EQ, the EQE SUV benefits from a heavily digitalized interior. Taking center stage is the optional MBUX Hyperscreen which includes a one ultimate widescreen making up the entire instrument cluster. The high-resolution screens are seamlessly merged under a single glass cover.
The outer air vents feature a familiar turbine design as seen on other Mercedes-Benz passenger cars, with a hyper-analogue theme present thanks to the contrast of high-tech precision mechanics and digital, glass display. The front section of the center console joins the instrument panel and stands freely in space. A floating control cluster which integrates the door opener and seat controls is now present in what would have been purely decorative elements before.
A special atmosphere is made possible in the interior thanks to Avantgarde and traditional materials and colors. The much-anticipated electric luxury SUV is immersed in a progressive and luxurious world of color which is comprised of warm and cool tones such as the warm, modern balao brown which combines technoid-looking neva grey and biscay blue/black. The warmth of wood and technical coolness of real aluminium are the result of the use of a hybrid trim element.
The trim is finished in an anthracite 3D-relief look, whilst featuring fine metal pigments. A special ambience is created by the laser-cut trim element which is also backlit with the Mercedes-Benz pattern.
