Having been revealed globally in April 2022, the local arm of BMW has now announced official pricing for the all-new 7-Series luxury sedan for the local market. The range will include three models in South Africa, namely: The 740i, 740d xDrive and the first-ever fully electric i7 xDrive60.
Three trim levels will be offered for all three models, and these will consist of the Design Pure Excellence, M Sport Package and M Sport Package Pro. Pricing for the range kick starts at R2,160,000 and tops out at R2,940,000. The global market launch of the luxury sedan is expected to commence in Q4 2022.
BMW South Africa also announced the pricing of the X7 LCI. Two models are on offer, namely: The X7 xDrive40d and X7 M60i drive. The former model consists of three trim levels which are the same as those found on the 7-Series. The latter model consists of two trim levels, namely: An M Performance Model and M Sport Package Pro. The range kick starts at R1,945,000 and tops out at R2,307,700.
Highlights of the new 7-Series include the vehicle measuring at 5.39m in length which is 131mm more than the predecessor. For the new model, BMW has also incorporated a modernized style which puts focus on the exterior and interior design. The new striking and distinctive front-end design for BMWs luxury vehicles is dominated by features which are recognizable for the brand whilst still maintaining a clear distinction between these models as well as the other models in the BMW stable.
Innovation in the new 7-Series is made possible thanks to features such as a large fold-down BMW Theatre Screen which measures 31.3-inches in size, BMW iDrive which includes the latest generation of BMW Operating System 8 which is complimented by the BMW Curved Display and BMW Interactive Bar.
Another unique feature in the 7-Series is the Executive Lounge configuration for the rear which includes optimized seat position reclining as well as new BMW Individual Merino leather/ cashmere wool interior which aims to maximize wellbeing in the interior of the car.
