BMW 3 Series LCI Local Pricing



The popular BMW 3 Series LCI is due to launch in South Africa soon and the premium manufacturer has quietly updated their website with the model line up and pricing.


The entry level 318i will be powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo petrol, capable of 115kW and a 0-100km/h sprint time of 8.6 seconds. This model is priced from R767 893,60.


Next in the line-up is the 320i which is also powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo petrol but churns out 135kW and achieves the 0-100km/h sprint in 7.4 seconds. This model is priced from R832 893,60.


The 330i employs the same 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo petrol as the former models however it churns out 190kW and manages to achieve the 0-100km/h sprint in just 5.8 seconds. This model is priced from R953 197,20.


Rounding up the petrol powered models is the M340i which employs a 3.0-litre 6-cylinder turbo petrol M-Performance engine, capable of 285kW and a 0-100km/h sprint of just 4.3 seconds. The powerful sedan is priced from R1 341 706,60.


One diesel model will be available in the form of the 320d. This model employs a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo diesel and is capable of 140kW and a 0-100km/h sprint of 6.8 seconds. This model is priced from R880 768,40.


Exterior Design

The 3 Series LCI benefits from a number of exterior changes, notably up front in the form of a new front bumper, new kidney grille and slimmer refreshed headlights. The daytime-running lights have also been revised.


The rear of the luxury sedan remains largely unchanged, with the lower bumper being revised. Depending on the engine variant, the exhaust tailpipes measure either 90 or 100mm in diameter.


Interior Design

The most notable upgrade in the interior comes in the form of the new instrument cluster which measures 12.3-inches and a 14.9-inch infotainment system. The two digital displays are housed as one in the new BMW Curved Display. The latest BMW Operating System 8 is available in the 3 Series LCI.


The gear selector for the 8-speed Steptronic transmission has also changed and now frees up space in the control panel on the center console.
